A Journey of Words

Tema F. Kudakwashe has lived a third of his life in each of three countries — Guyana, Canada and the United States — and those crossings run through everything he writes. He studied Computer Science at the University of Toronto and built a career in Information Technology, but writing has been the constant companion of his adult life.

His books range from the raw, opinionated essays of Ground Beef for the Mind to the memoir Famous, I Am Not and the story of Freida, a Guyanese-Canadian woman shaped by loss from the age of nine. Each book is a question, and an invitation to see the world from a different angle.

Inspiration

Agatha Christie first sparked his love of storytelling. Real people, hard-won experience and a lifelong concern for women's rights and fairness drive the stories he tells today. When he isn't writing, you'll find him jogging a few miles or helping young people get to grips with maths.
